Teak Finishes (Oh no; not again!)
I have been searching for a really long time to find a product to finish teak with that would make life easier on a boat with "a lot of teak" AND HAVE FOUND IT! It's WATCO Teak Oil (a Rustoleum product) and is not really an oil at all.
Does anyone have any long term experience with this stuff? It's an "exterior" version of "Danish Finish" which has been on furniture for hundreds of years. Really "old school" stuff that works. Similar to wood stock finishes on guns.
Not a varnish or polyurethane; more like a Cetol or Semco without the murky stain and "$Marine$ $pricing$".
Prep once and thereafter apply by wiping it on to keep teak looking great; can touch up areas without having to take back down 100%.
Bad news - you can't finish in a day or two; have to keep wiping it on until you attain the desired luster. Found some at Home Depot
