GPS fuse replacement

I have a 6 year old Garmin GPS/sounder at the helm and I want to replace the in-line fuse and holder.
There is corrosion in the fuse holder and the connection does not seem 100%.
The manual calls for an AGC-3 or AG 3 amp fuse.
Can I safely use a GMA 3 amp fuse and GMA in-line fuse holder?
What is the difference?
Could it be used temporarily?
I happen to to have the GMA fuse and holder on hand but do not want to screw up a perfectly good GPS.
I could not find AGC fuses or holder at the parts store.
