How to install stainless sink in head
I will shortly be installing a replacement stainless sink. The Admiral decided the old plastic one had to go. The old one had hold down clips to secure it to the cabinet surface, the stainless one has no such clips.

Thinking what material to use to help its adherence, the lip that goes on the formica isn't flat.

Under consideration are such things as:

Plumbers putty
butyl tape?
3m 4200?

Thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

On a former boat I took a similar sink and used it as an 'under mount". Prior to putting the formica on I bolted the sink to the underside of the plywood top in which I'd made the appropriate cutout. Then used the formica to trip the cutout edge, and then applied the top.

I realize you're not changing the formica, so if the top is sufficiently thick you might do the same with screws from below. The under-mount arrangement is easy to seal and really makes regular galley cleanup much easier (no lip for crumbs to get caught up in)

Check any sink with a magnet. The magnetic ones rust like hell in the tropics. Ditto stainless galley ware. Some run the drain pipe under a standard marine head seat. Others simply dump the contents in the head .Both options eliminate the sink drain thru hull.
Bedding it down in Urethane eliminates the need for tie downs.
