I added this to the base of my mast

I didn't want to take down the mast to install turning blocks so I made two of these from 1/8" aluminum plate. One on each side of the mast provides four "hell for stout" turning blocks. I used 12 3/16 aluminum rivets for each plate. Combined tensile strength is supposed to be more 3,000 lbs. I installed them yesterday and they feel very strong indeed.

Yes the plate is bent to the shape of the mast.
