Lube for Mast Sheeves

What is the best lube for mast sheaves? Have used sailcote, but would somthing else be better (last longer) like silicone or marine lithium grease? I get a lot of salt deposits on the mast so don't want a grease that would combine with salt and create a mess.

Use soap. If you have too much water it will be washed away but also clean.

I have never lubed a mast head sheave in 40 years and never had a problem with one wearing in any way. No salt that high up anyway.

I do get salt deposits all the way to mast head- caused by salt spray from breaking waves next to boat harbor.

Best lube is $100 and a nearby west marine...these are replace parts for me.
