Video Inspection Scope

Got one? Which one?
Besides the obvious maintenance stuff of looking in impossible places I am wondering if this could be snaked over the side for a view of the prop so I can see if that lobster trap warp really is wrapped around it. Most are water proof or resistant.
I think the question is field of focus because many, if not all the ones in a DIYers price range, just see stuff pretty close up.
This seems like such a great toy, some of you guys/gals must have one.

Re: Video Inspection Scope

I sure do. Bene, posted some pics of the rigging inside his mast from one and I ran right out to get it. I have the one in the link, or one just like it. Plugs into a small tablett computer I have aboard. Took seconds to install. Has an adjustable light and you press a button and it takes a still picture.

I've already used it to find something a guest drop down into the bilges under the sink in the head. Paid for itself right there. You'll play with it for hours.

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Re: Video Inspection Scope

That is the one I have as well. I use it to snap pictures of the prop zincs during the colder months.

Re: Video Inspection Scope

I just bought a Whistler 9mm Wireless inspection camera:

36" flexible camera tube with pistol grip handle
Waterproof detachable color digital camera/monitor
LED lighting
30 ft wireless transmission range
36" extension tube to give 6 feet total reach when needed
Mirror, magnet, and hook attachments for terminal end
Whole thing comes in a nice little padded case measuring 11"X15"X3"

Been wanting one for a long time. Finally took the plunge. Haven't had a chance to use mine yet. Bought primarily with the boat in mind, but can imagine the thing will come in handy at home as well.

Costco has them right now for $150. That's about an average price I've seen them for a bit less and for a lot more on line (when you factor in shipping).
