Loose motor mount

New to SailNet, please forgive if this has been discussed. One of the eight wood screws holding the engine in my Tartan 28 is loose. It appears to pass through the fiberglass into wood. The screw is fairly tight, but continues to turn with a few lbs pressure. Someone suggested placing wood slivers in the hole; others have suggested 3M products, but caution not to use anything that will prevent the screw from being withdrawn sometime down the road. Anyone had success with a similar situation?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Loose motor mount

If the wood is dry I would put epoxy into the hole, let it soak in for a half hour, and then put thickened epoxy in before putting the screw back. It's easily removable in the future.

Re: Loose motor mount

Make sure the wood inside is still in good condition before attempting any repairs.
