ideas for mounting wind generator on a 32 ft. sloop

I''m looking for suggestions on hardware to mount a wind generator on a space-limited boat.

I''ve looked at an $895 wind generator at West Marine (Kiss brand, I think) - which can be mounted with a pole and base kit (about $300 ?)- but thought others may have direct and practical ideas about alternatives.

K, altho'' I would hate to be without our wind generator (we cruise and it does help battery consumption noticeably), I''d be inclined to choose solar over wind on your smaller boat. (See my note on solar panels). You''ll need to get the pole up a ways (for safety) which puts weight back aft and higher up than you might prefer after you live with it for a while.
