How do I fix this?

Hey,

Last fall when I was putting the boat away I found a crack in the stemhead / anchor roller / whatever you want to call it.

How do I fix it? Can it be welded? Do I need to source a new one?

Seems to me you could grind it out, hang a wet towel around the deck edge and reweld it in place... Doesn't look like cast..

Find a good local welder who can TIG off the back of his truck and either unbolt it and take it to him or have him come out and weld it on site. It doesn't look like a tough job- bevel out the crack, weld it, done.
