source for stern rail dinghy motor mount?

I just bought myself an 8hp two-stroke dinghy motor, and I don't have a dinghy yet, so I need to find a way to store it on my boat. I have a small mount for a dinghy motor on my pushpit rail, but it's too small for this motor. I can't seem to find a replacement that will work from the usual sources (except for an Edson model that's over $300!). I'm looking for something that will strech between the upper and lower rails of the pushput to prevent rotating, that doen't require being mounted at a T in the rail (I don't have any right-angle joints in my stern rail). Anyone know where I can find such a thing?

You don't need a tee in the rail. You can create one by using a clamp on connector for bimini mounting along with a bimini pipe end (socket) and a short piece of pipe anywhere along the lower rail and just stick it into the bottom of the mount and it will work. I will take a picture as soon as I get to the boat if I remember.

You can make your own out of a piece of 1X6-8" teak or mahogany and a couple or 1/8" SS plates. Screw the SS plates to both sides at the top where the outboard mounts and use SS u-bolts to attach to top and bottom horizontal rails. Bullet proof and cheap, looks good too (cetol natural on teak). PM if you want pics of ours.

eherlihy, that is the type I was able to find that won't work for me -- it requires that right-angle verticle piece. All of the vertical pieces of my stern rail are angled at about 45 degrees, so it can't attach.

I hadn't really considered building my own. cmasone and jrd22, I'd love to see pics of yours. Thanks!
