Go with colour coded lines - the cost differential in $$ on a small boat is not significant on a small boat, even if the %% difference is large.
You can estimate your needs with the following rules of thumb.
Halyards - The length of the forestay plus the height of the mast plus the distance from the mast to the cockpit plus a few feet
Jib/Gennie sheets - 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 times the length of the boat.
Spinnaker sheets - twice the length of the boat.
Mainsheet - the distance between block shackles with the boom at 90 degrees X the number of falls plus a few feet.
