Mast removal 1959 New Horizon

New guy here, I am from Wilmington NC and looking at getting my own sailboat and have found a fully restored 26' New horizon. The only problem I have is that it is 200 miles away from my dock and I don't have the time to move it down here through the water. I do however have the means necessary to cradle this boat and trailer it. But I cannot move it with the mast and keel in place. I have absolutely ZERO knowledge on this brand of boat so this may seem like a completely ridiculous question but would it be possible to remove the mast and keel so that I can move this boat?

Thank you.

Specs on the New Horizons 26: NEW HORIZONS 26 sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com

Weighs over 6000 #s. Not easily trailerable without a good cradle and adequate towing vehicle.

Sure, you can remove the mast but why remove the keel? Tuck the center board up and that is all you can do.

It depends on the waterways you have to pass to get to your home port but I helped in a delivery on the Atlantic of about 120 nm. recently and with sailing overnight we made it in about 26 hours.

I'm with Caleb. You could easily do a 200 Mi relocation over a three-day weekend. Take a couple of friends and a GPS and have a fun adventure!

Sorry, skipped the part about looking to get... and 4 weeks ago. Did you end up buying it?
