WilcoxCritteden Junior/Skipper II head packing gland

I have a WC Junior on board my boat that works fine except for the constant leak of water from the pump shaft. I have replaced the packing gland several times as well as trying shaft stuffing box packing. Thetford does not sell the packing gland separately and is only included in the expensive rebuild kit. Does anyone have similar problems and/or can suggest something I can put on the placking gland.

I also have a WC Skipper, but not that problem. If no one here can help, try the Woodenboat Forum, many old boats with old gear over there. Good luck.
