V-Belt Replacement

On a job today and some guys used this to fix a broken V-belt. Took 10 minutes. This repair belt has links so you do not need to remove other belts that might be in your way. Could be a fast way to fix a water pump belt or generator belt. Supposed to last longer than conventional v-belts. Good thing is you buy say a 6 foot length and you can keep using that to repair many different sizes of belts. (material comes in several belt widths). Could be a good thing in an emergency kit or for you delivery captains.

Re: V-Belt Replacement

We use those in the HVAC trade. They work well, especially in emergencies.

We used to use one of them on my friend's go-kart in the '60s... Worked like a champ. Where to buy though?

Re: V-Belt Replacement

Yeah I carry a length of that in my service van for emergencies, but you wouldn't want to use them instead of regular v-belts. Not only are they far more expensive, but they chew up the pulleys pretty quickly too.

You can buy them at any HVAC supplier.
