I''m having a hard time deciding between the networked systems of instruments. I am stuck between the new Nexus stuff, B&G, and TackTick. All I want now is speed and depth, but be able to upgrade in the future to compass and wind. Also, I want a mast mounting option. I know the TackTick is mast mountable, and it is wireless. Can the others be mounted on the mast and do they have advantages over the TackTick? Layline has the TackTick system for 1k AND it comes with a compass to provide Lift/Header info.

I installed a Nexus system last summer and have been pleased with the results. The "Buss" style wiring kept things very neat. The system has very powerfull enhancement capabilities, you can start out small and go nuts later on if you want to.

I used two of their multi displays, one analog wind indicator, and one GPS Nav Repeater. It all ran around $1,700 give or take from PYacht.
