GoPro camera saved us from a potentially costly repair
The other day, Chris was messing around with our GoPro camera and in
mad-scientist fashion, devised a mount for the camera at the end of an old boat hook pole so he could stick it underwater to see how our bottom looked. What we saw when we popped the card into the laptop and hit play completely took us by surprise! Our prop was completely tangled in a heap of old nylon rope (from a crab pot maybe?) and a mess of other twine/roots, etc. Even more surprising than that was what made its home on top of all this mess. You just gotta check out the story and video - we couldn't have planned it better! When Life Gives You Crabs… | Vacilando Happy Sailing! I know, right! It took a little time to get it hooked up, and of course we edited out the extra footage of the camera banging around the hull as he tried to find the prop, but it was pretty cool to see that, and explained why we didn't seem to be moving that well when we were under power coming into the dock!

I liked the crab sitting on there too!

He totally wouldn't budge, either. He was not going to lose his cozy spot without a fight! We ended up not having crab cakes, so he was spared, but next time... :)
