Catalina Mainsail Traveler

Does anyone know the manufacture of a 1995 Catalina 400 mainsail traveler and a good replacement for the traveler car?
I do not want to replace the who thing and I am trying to find a traveler car that is close to the rig I have now. Most of the traveler cars I have seen, the sheaves are on the top and mine are on the front side.

Thanks

Garhauer probably made it, depending on what year the boat is.

Call Catalina parts - the number is on their web site - they will tell you.

I don't know about parts, but "Catalina Mainsail Traveler" sounds like a good name for a blues band.

I found the information that I needed. It is a Garhauer Traveler which is no longer made.

The way the traveler sheets are held into the traveler car is a poor design. A steel sleeve was crimped over the ends of the line, slipped into a whole and held in place with a set screw. The traveler car is made of aluminum. Over time the steel sleeve fuses to aluminum car and can not be removed. I need to replace the sheets, which I am sure date back to 1995. I called Garhauer and was told the only fix, until I can afford another traveler, is to tie the new sheets to the U bolt, (where the main sheet snaps on to the traveler), and make it work that way. Not the prettiest rig in the world, but it does work.

Yes, it is Garhauser. DId you check with Catalina to see if they had a spare? I was there the other day and they are filled with extra parts (often cheaper than anywhere else).
