Problem with tape for the boot stripe is that the width must vary, especially going under the stern. I have tape in the cove stipe. Regarding masking tape: get the good quality flexible stuff. It will make those curves look better.

Okay, thanks, that makes sense. Is there a formula to use to get the correct width as it widens near the stern?
