Matching diameter for single braid cover
I'm planning on replacing my boom vang line and would like to take the opportunity to experiment with using single braid line. My plan would be to use the smallest possible Amsteel-blue and cover it where it passes through my rope clutch (old spinlock). The spinlock works decently with 1/4in lines, so I'm left with guessing what size of Amsteel-blue I would need to comfortably add a 1/4in cover.
As for the load, I believe that 2000 lbs should be more than enough (1/8in Amsteel-blue?).
I fully understand that this is completely overkill for a boom vang, but my goal there is to build experience before attempting something similar for a halyard or sheet... I must also admit there is something about the aesthetic of that project that gets me!
Would anyone have specific covers to recommend?

Here's a link for covers only at Annapolis Performance Sailing:

You can figure it out from this.
If in doubt, give them a call. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
