I just bought a San Juan 28 knowing the engine hadn't ran in about 2 years. I have pumped out the old
fuel, changed the filters (that were plugged), had the injector
pump checked out, bench tested and radared and still can get this thing to run. Now I am questioning the mechanical
pump and the volume of
fuel that it is supplying to the injector
pump. I have been looking online for a new mechanical
pump but... I need help, Suggestions? Questions? Fire away... thanks

Lanky, you should copy this into a new thread in the gear and maintenance forum (also in the general chat area - someone there may be able to help).

It did run prior, it just quit on the guy pulling up to his mooring. How much quantity of
fuel should the mechanical pump produce? when I manually pump it, it only appears to push fuel in the last 1/4 in of the thumb pump stroke. I have fuel up to the injector pump. none beyond it on the high side.
