Spider poop

Went for a sail yesterday and noticed spider poop on my main sail(Dacron ) but not my roller furling genoa(mylar). Is it safe to spray spider killing spray directly on the material under my sail cover and what type of cleanser would clean it off without damaging the material? As said on other threads a bad year for spiders and I now keep a broom for webs and a handled brush for under the rails aboard!

The best stuff I've found to kill them and not damage the sails or stain the glass is Ortho Home Defense Max. I've been using it for two years, it definitely does a job on them, and this has been the worst year I can recall for arachnids in the Chesapeake's upper reaches. Lots of flying insects - lots of spiders to eat them.
