Yanmar 2GM raw-water pump? HELP

I have a 2gm 13hp Yanmar engine in the C&C 30 MK1. The water pump shaft seal sprung a leak. There was a spare on the boat when I purchased it. The problem is the fittings comming and going and differnt sized and the impeller seams to be 1/2" or sow larger than the one I took off. It has the same pully and mount as mine. Not sure if its o,k to use? I am trying th have the one I took off rebuilt. Any help out there of if the 2gm had 2 differant choices for a raw-water pump.

Re: Yanmar 2GM raw-water pump? HELP

I had the same problem with my raw water pump on my 2gm 13 when I bought my 1981 30' Hunter last year. I called my local Yanmar distributor and they told me they had a complete replacement pump with bracket much cheaper than the rebuild parts. I bought this replacment and found it fit but the intake and output fittings were in slitghly different places and the output was a bit different sized. I had to buy a new output hose but everything else worked.

I'm not at the boat so I don't have the part number but you can call these people and get it. Yanmar Distributor Marine Pro of Central Florida - Complete Re-power Service

Thanks, I have a guy. He is going to change the fittings out on the used pump or my spare and he will rebuild my old one.

Re: Yanmar 2GM raw-water pump? HELP

Just an up-date to the story. The pump I had as a back up pump is just a little larger than the pump I took off the engine. There is no way to make it work. The suctiion side is too close to the engine mount. I will have to rebuild my original pump and sell this good back up. The back -up must be for a 2GM 20 or somthing?? Anybody needd a good pump? I will trade if for a good pump.
