Stump the chump

OK folks,
I've forgotten (early alzheimer's?) a nautical term. Some boats have a post which sits in front of the tiller or wheel to which the mainsheet is led, usually to a swivel cam cleat/block & becket arrangement. Years ago I owned a Dragon with this arrangement.
This post has a name. Does anybody remember what it's called?

everything has a name. Even parts of things have names. Ever heard of a Norman pin?

I often entertain groups of young women on board for stagetts ,etc. I am always amazed at how few know of the Golden Rivet.

Yep, Capri 14.2 and 18 used only a Barney, no traveler. Ah simpler days.
