Painting a boat trailer

What paint would you recommend for a trailer? It will be used to ramp launch a j22 in fresh water. I am planning on rolling it on after prep. Thanks to all!

I'm no trailer expert but I think I'd be tempted to use bed liner.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Re: Painting a boat trailer

Personally I like Hammerite. Last trailer I painted I put on a couple of coats of rustoleum, and the hammerite. Looked good (to me) and lasted well.

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

Pick up some Gemplers Rust Converter for the primer at GEMPLER'S - Outdoor Work Supplies, Spray Equipment, PPE & more and use as a primer then use any oil based paint.

Re: Painting a boat trailer

So far it looks like rustoleum. I am stripping down all the rusted areas to the bare metal and sanding the rest. Planning to roll on the paint instead of spraying. Thanks for the feedback!
