Noaa charts...

Is there a list, such as a pdf file, where you can look up and decipher the chart numbers that they show on the NOAA website?

You can use the online chart viewer.

NOAA's On-Line Chart Viewer

Just select your region. The chart column link may be more user friendly.

Yes I found that, but it seems awkward and slow to use.

I want to download the mass of them which seem to be identified in numbers and use an index of the numbers to suck them up into my mapping program.

This site allows you select raster or vector charts by state or region.
