Hyde Roller Furling

Has anyone here ever rebuilt, or seen any books on the old Hyde Roller Furling system? Mine has been on her last leg for a couple of years and im trying to get 1 more year out of her. I''m worried about taking her apart w/o breaking something. I''d like to be able to replace the bearings if it''s easy enough.
Thanks, Greg

You can contact Rig Rite in Warwick RI at 401-739-1148 and they can help. Better yet, look them up on their web site www.rigrite.com and you can open and dowload digrams, part lists, price lists, etc. for the old Hyde Roller Furling systems. I rebuilt my entire system two years ago. Hyde says it should be done every 8-10 years. I almost lost my mast when the lower furling drum failed because of corrosion in the bearings.

Lubrication requirements for Hyde furlers?

Does anyone know how to lubricate the Hyde roller furling system? Grease, oil, dry lubricant? Where does it go?

I didn't find any answers on the RigRite.com web site.

Thanks for any help

The Hyde Stream Stay has sealed bearings in the swivel and depending on size, two or three stacked bearings in each end of the foil. They should all be packed with a heavy grease.
The system has to be dropped and completely disassembled in order to service the bearings. This should be done every season or two at the minimum.

Knothead --
The attachments are no longer visible on the sailnet server :(
I assume these were the digital photos of the Hyde manual ?
Could you post them again or PM them to me?

Thanks
