repair tranlslates into financial freedom

I was wondering exactly how much I can fix on my own on a cal 34. I am in the marine industry, but work on large steel boats...so i am already familliar with desgin and such. However, my concern is this, are there measures to take in order to reduced the annual cost of owning a cal 34?
