Goop to use for gaskets on bronze ports

What is the best goop to use for putting new gaskets on bronze ports? The gasket material is silicon (not from a tube!). (To be clear, the gasket goes on around the opening portion of the port - not talking about the part that beds to the cabin.)

mcmaster.com (mcmaster carr) is a good resource for a variety of gasket materials. It is a very comprehensive website for parts of all kinds. It is very dense, so look at the categories carefully. I''m sure there is something in there. They have never failed to ship quickly, no matter how small the order.
