Custom Parts

Has anyone used any company like one of these:
3D-Printing Comparison: Top 3D-Printing Services and Companies

to make a part for their boat. Might be an option for interior hardware like latches that are no longer being made.

As this technology gets better it may be an option for lots of parts.

Was thinking same thing re parts no longer made.
There is a company (thinking Shapeways?)on the floor beneath my business, they have invited me to take a look but haven't as of yet.
Under the impression that, as of now, units made are not that strong but as you say that will evolve.
