So do I, sort of but they don't look like any boat I'd want to own. Seriously, you probably could use one of those roof bins as a deck box on some of the new boats - especially the "running shoe" style ones. It would probably work well on a Hunter or last generation Bavaria.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Google up suv or wrangler roof racks and you will find several powder coated aluminum basket racks. Not sure how great this will look, no matter what you make them from. Depending on how neatly you pack and the containers you use, it could look like the Clampetts.

somewhat due to a sorta soft portion of the deck.....
I won't lecture, but working around a known problem on a boat is usually regrettable.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Re: Luggage rack??

Not so much a work-around as an avoidance issue. The few gel cracks evident are from spanning the supporting ribs with shifting weight. Once sealed, I'd like to NOT have the problem exacerbated by the [direct] weight of stowage. A superstructure of some type, distributing the load, would work for supercargo or body weight while setting/trimming the main.

Just 'blue-sky-ing' alternatives on a Winter's day.

I'll check the 4X4 sites as recommended...thanx
