Normally when a thermocouple is gone the pilot light light won't stay lit which doesn't seem to be your case. With that said however, most gas valves are powered from the heat generated from the thermocople, milli-volt system.
You could try replacing it. As miatapaul pointed out, they're cheap & easy to replace. If that doesn't work, don't sweat the fact it's a marine stove. Get a normal appliance company to take a look at it. It's just a gas valve, nothing special about it.
