Repairing a Hillerange oven in Annapolis?

The burners on my 27-year old Hillerange propane stove work fine, but the oven does not work. We can get the oven pilot light lit, but not the oven burner. (The boat is new to me, so I don't know when it last worked.)

Not a really big deal since we have the stove and the BBQ, but it would be nice to have the oven as an option if it can be fixed. Any suggestions as to who might do this in the Annapolis area?

Sounds like a thermocouple, easy and cheap fix if that is all it is. They are normally universal so finding one should not be hard.

One place I would start asking questions about your Hillerange oven is Bacons. They sell used marine surplus and sails and likely know people who refurbish some of the items.

Normally when a thermocouple is gone the pilot light light won't stay lit which doesn't seem to be your case. With that said however, most gas valves are powered from the heat generated from the thermocople, milli-volt system.

You could try replacing it. As miatapaul pointed out, they're cheap & easy to replace. If that doesn't work, don't sweat the fact it's a marine stove. Get a normal appliance company to take a look at it. It's just a gas valve, nothing special about it.
