Looking to have my boat painted

Hello all:

I am considering letting someone else paint the topside, deck, and cockpit of my C&C 36. The boat is presently on the hard in Manchester, NH, so I'm looking for a company within reasonable hauling distance (NH, southern Maine or northern Massachusetts).

Does anyone have a recommendation?

Re: Looking to have my boat painted

Let me know, if you expand your scope to RI, but I'm sure it isn't necessary.

I have heard there is a yard in Maine that sort of specializes in paint jobs over the winter, at very reasonable prices. You bring your boat there for winter storage and go back and get her for the beginning of your newly painted sailing season.

Here, going rate is $300 per foot. I understand you can get the paint job, plus winter storage for less than that in Maine.

A buddy knows them and I keep meaning to ask for the name. If I see him and remember, I'll get it for you.

Custom Fiberglas in Weymouth MA Custom Fiberglass Repair and Painting Located in Weymouth, MA does first quality work at a reasonable prices. They always have a waiting line, a good sign, but you may have to wait for the summer. Sail the boat down in July, they probably could then turn it around quickly.

Certified...in several regards...

That's a very wise decision. A boat that size would be quite a do-it-yourself project, especially if it is your 1st attempt at painting a large boat. Hope it turns out nice when its done! Post some before and after pics...
