The water tank vents on my boat are 5/8" (not ˝") and are plumbed to vent fittings that exit the hull right under the hull/deck joint. I can hear water gurgling in the hose as I fill my tanks. When the gurgling stops, I know that water has entered the vent hose, and the tank is FULL.
