What is on your list each year when getting your outboard ready for the season? Fresh water users only please.

There is really NO differance all the things like changing the lower unit oil should be done in the fall to spot any issues while they are small

Same thing for draining the fuel

Thorough visual inspection, new oil & plugs. Maybe every other year, new lower unit oil.
Lube appropriate fittings, fresh fuel, check prop nut, wipe off the dust and go.

The owner's manual should have all the details.

My usual excuse to play in the garage includes:
- change engine oil
- change lower unit oil
- change fuel filter
- change plugs
- general visual inspection
- add fuel stabiliser to the last tank of gasoline for the season
- clean, shine and enjoy :-)
