Mike, one day when you are bored you can take it apart and fix it.
First you check the bulb to see if it is burned out. Then you check the tiny AGM battery you will find in it, to see if that was abused. Then you pin out the wires from the battery to the charging plug to find out what polarity it needs, if that is not marked with a tiny icon on the flashlight body. If it needs a battery that's another fast ten bucks. if the charger is the wrong polarity that can be changed.
But most of the cheap "million candlepower" lanterns? Really are more like "one million teeny tiny birthday cake candles". Worth spending some time on a very slow day, mainly to keep the plastic out of the landfill.
I leave on like that ("free after rebate!") in the trunk of the car, figuring if someone steals it, it was free. With the ciggy lighter cord, it's good enough to change a tire. Million candlepower? Sure, blow out the cake.
