SeaVolt handheld spotlight.. mysterious

So I was in a consignment shop the other day and picked up a spotlight for $10, thought it was a steal, all it needs is a charger. I picked up a 12v charger at radio shack, but the light doesn't work. Bulb? Wrong charger, maybe? I looked around online and can't find ANY reference to this lamp. Now THAT'S wierd! Usually I can find a manufacturers website or SOMETHING, but not even so much as a discussion. Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me?

It's a typical handheld rechargable floodight, blue body with a black handle and bezel. It's got a little area light on the back and the big spot on the front. The label says "SeaVolt One Million Candlepower"

Any links or arcane knowledge would be appreciated.

Throw that thing away, don't spend a penny more on it. You and Mick have a long delivery ahead of you, so buy one of these:

B&D LED floating waterproof spotlight

Trust me, this thing is the bee's knees.

go to ace hardware. buy the 16.95 usd rechargeable 1million candlepower spotlight.
enjoy for many months to years. they fly and even work with cracked lens. dont ask me how i know this....LOL they work and are cheap.

Sorry to say but these types of spotlights are pretty antiquated in my oppinion. For example this looks pretty good doesn't it?

Yes. And you bought a charger but whether it is the correct one or not is anyone's guess. And the battery pack is certainly shot so getting that replaced at BatteriesPlus will cost another $15-$20 and you'll end up with a not very good light when you're done, eh?

Mike, one day when you are bored you can take it apart and fix it.

First you check the bulb to see if it is burned out. Then you check the tiny AGM battery you will find in it, to see if that was abused. Then you pin out the wires from the battery to the charging plug to find out what polarity it needs, if that is not marked with a tiny icon on the flashlight body. If it needs a battery that's another fast ten bucks. if the charger is the wrong polarity that can be changed.

But most of the cheap "million candlepower" lanterns? Really are more like "one million teeny tiny birthday cake candles". Worth spending some time on a very slow day, mainly to keep the plastic out of the landfill.

I leave on like that ("free after rebate!") in the trunk of the car, figuring if someone steals it, it was free. With the ciggy lighter cord, it's good enough to change a tire. Million candlepower? Sure, blow out the cake.
