Hi re the sink the ball **** is probably to close when under sail. When the boat is hard over in a fresh wind the water will come up the pipe. Close it off u could also fit a 1 way valve as a precaution for when u forget. Always always double clamp your nylon pipes and check all your ball cocks are in good nick when u slip it if the hull is steel good quality plastic ones are best to eliminate electrolysis for example a nice brass one will soon corrode.be a good chance to check rudder and stuffing box for the prop change anodes if any are left. Good chance the prop will need replacing after 4 years!
