Standing Rigging Cal 33

You guys& gals were a great help to me when i was looking for info on my running rigging. I am now on standing rigging. I was hopeing some one might be able to give me some insite on how much tension my standing rigging should be under. I am certian it is way to loose as it is( uneducated guess). As a general rule ( if there is one) how would one rate a heathly Rig tension ? Taunt? Firm? unmovable?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The best advice I''ve gotten on that subject is just tight enough to keep the stick straight and in the middle of the boat. (I''m assuming you do not have a "bendy" mast with baby stays, etc.) Go to windward in a brisk breeze and just take the slack out of the leeward shrouds. Make the uppers a little tighter than the lowers. Use a tensiometer to make the two sides equal after you are back at the dock. A lot of people like to set them up tight as possible, but I don''t know what good it does to put a lot of unnecessary strain on everything
