Been there! With Cetol ! That stuff flakes and makes a mess. I suggest not re-applying.
I've left the toe rail and rub rail bare for the past year and like the grey oxidized look. It will need some cleaning this season, but that's it. If I dry spray some Tuf Enuf, mist with water and lightly scrub with a scotch pad, it will come back to new. I'll do the whole boat in an hour.
I keep the brightwork look on the cockpit coaming, the cockpit table and a couple of accents in the cockpit. All I need.
