Re: Best line type for reefing lines?

I went with NER VPC for my reef lines but I've heard arguements for going with a plain double braid. The reason given is that a certain amount of stretch might not be so bad. The thinking was its better for the line to stretch a bit and belly the sail in a gust that to rip out the cringle.

Since I heard this argument after I bought the VPC, I'm sticking with what I have.

I second the idea of color coding your reef lines. My first is green 'cause everythings still cool. My second is red 'cause things are startin' to get sporty. I'm a bay sailor so don't need or have a 3'rd reef, and have never set the second in the heat of battle as it were.
