Look at this bleed through...

...and give me your opinions.

Keep in mind that this is a cheap starter boat. Strip, barrier coat, and bottom paint two seasons ago. Power wash when pulled last season. I was planning on a coat of fresh paint after a wipe down with denatured alchohol.

I saw this "bleed through" and was wondering if I should do something more before I just paint it up and splash.

what say you?

I'd want to know what's causing those two streaks.

Close ups?

Also, I wouldn't be satisfied with the state of that keel/hull joint but I'm pretty OCD about my bottoms.

I would like to know what is there in the hull. If you notice the thru hull forward of those marks is at the same level

why dont you tell us the model and year of the boat, maybe someone else with the same boat has had the same issue.

It is an old boat and the keel bolts look good inside. The streaks seem to be dirty water marks. I will try to blow it up and upload.

IMHP fairly normal line between the keel and keel sump that was most likely always that way

What looks to a through-hull fitting in the sump is a bit odd unless it is a knot meter ?

My big concern would be how the inside of the sump and the nut/bolts look

I would look for owners groups for the hull and see if it has know problems as i found out about all the Cal warts that way and was able to make a much more informed decision

Lots of info about those warts :)

We can copy the photo and blow it up..I did but it doesn't really tell us any more than what we can see here.

I'm wondering. Do you have a bilge pump in that location that has been screwed in to the bilge? Looks like something's bleeding through aft too. Anything mechanically attached/fastened inside the bilge in those locations?

The forward thru hull is the Garboard drain plug. I'm assuming
