Help needed in Upper Chesapeake, marina on the Sassafras River

I bought a C&C 36 over the winter. I have been working on some of the big issues most of the winter and spring. I am now to some points where I need advice on whay order I should tackle some of what is left, also what needs to be dine before safely using the boat and what can wait till next winter spring to be finished. If anyone in the area has time either Friday or Saturday i am hoping to be there working one or maube both days. Any help advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

egent, what marina are you in?

Did you get a survey done? On ours it listed first the critical items and then the should-get-done-soon stuff. If you have one, I would make sure that you cover those items.

In Sailing Associates.

And mistake number 1 was forgoing the survey till I had done some of the work I knew needed done. And in that process kept finding more and more that needs to be done. I am hoping to at least get an in water insurance survey in the next few weeks but when I called to try and schedule one, I was told that the surveyors in the area are still trying to work though Sandy claims in Jersey

From what I understand, you're in a great place. I'd follow DockBumDan's suggestion and chat up the owner.

Can you give us a list of what you know needs to be done? Maybe we can help that way, too.

Feel free to PM if you find any issue particular to the C&Cs I have a 35 and have done most work on her myself. You are in a good marina. What year 36?

I might be able to come up Saturday this week as my wife is working. Feel free to PM me with your number.

Dave

I too like Patrick and agree he can be knowledgeable . The fact the remembered my father who had a boat there in the eighties is why I chose to come back to Sailing Associates.

However I am trying to do as much work as possible without hiring out the marina. So that is why I was asking help here.

As to some of what still needs to be done:

Replacing all the wiring that ran through the bilge
Eventually replace the glass fuse distribution panel
Mast wiring is questionable
Need to learn how to prime the water pressure pump
Need to know how to check if hot water tank is working
Replace seals on hatches
Re-bed chain plates
Possible re-bedding of hatches and other hardware
Replacement of port cabinet shelving
Replacement of wood on starboard settee that chain plate bolts through

That's all that I know of, but being a newer boat owner i am sure there are many thing yet to be revealed that need to be done.

The year is a 1978, and it sat on the hard for two years or so at Ferry Point Marina on the Magothy before I bought her and moved her the Sassafras.

Thanks for the offer, I am currently using the Android app to access the site and can't find how to PM with it. When I get home later I will use the computer and see if I now have the post count to send you a PM.

You should be able to PM from there?

The app has the annoying notifications at the top for LED, SN App, and New Video Section every time I open it, anyone know how to make it go away for good?

Thanks for the directions, I was able to attempt the PM going in that way. I don't yet have the post count required. So I need to find something more to comment on.

As to the notification, I close them with an error and they reappear, so I don't know what to tell you.
