Sallen,
Because of the size of my boat (23''), my insurance gave me a break ($) for having an alcohol stove rather than propane on board. Just thought I''d put that out there...

It can, but it will be a lot of work to get it right. (Propane locker, self draining, solid line to stove, without splice, propane sniffer in bilge, and bilge blower, solenoid to tank with switch at stove.)

Why not just switch to a non-pressurized alcohol, and save your labour days for sailing. Check previous threads on the pros/cons or the Origos.

I doubt there''s a way to convert an old pressurized alcohol stove to propane. Even if you could, not sure I''d trust it. The suggestion to look at the Origo line of pressureless alcohol stoves is an excellent one. I had one of those on my prior boat and it worked quite well. My new boat came with propane, but it if ever needs to be replaced, I''d probably go with another Origo.
