Returning from Bahamas, need Marina in Melbourne area

All,
back in the states soon and could use a recommendation for a haul-out, some DIY, and some service work from a marina in the Melbourne Fl area. My vehicle is in the area so after I get that working would want to do some DIY jobs and then leave the boat with the yard for a week to 10 days for additional jobs.
Can anyone recommend a yard that would let us live aboard "on the hard" for 3-4 days while we work the car and minor issues and then do additional service work while we go see family nearby.

I figure a 15-20 mile radius around Melbourne

THoughts?

For DIY the best choice would appear to be Cape Marina in Port Canaveral. Your boat size precludes all Melbourne, FL marinas for a haul out. The staff is great at Cape Marina and they have a good DIY yard.

I'm new to the area, so maybe someone with more experience around here can point you to a better place, but here is what I know.

I do not believe there are any DIY yards in the Melbourne area and most of the yards here will require you to use their staff to do work. The closest DIY yards I know of are Harbortown (off the barge canal in Merritt Island) and Westland (Titusville). I know Westland will let you live aboard in the yard, I do not know about Harbortown. We were in the yard at Westland for 2 months and had good experiences with the staff, so I can definitely recommend them. If you need some general contracting type work done, I can also refer you to someone that did good work for us up there.

If you want a full service yard, Eau Gallie Boatworks is here and while I don't have personal experience with them doing work, I've heard decent stuff about them (but get first hand reports). I'm not sure if they'll let you live aboard or not. There are probably better people to ask for reviews about their work.

Yeah, I live there too. He's looking for DIY which means the Eau Gallie boatyard won't work as it is not DIY, neither is Harbortown. It's the Cape area or Fort Pierce...or Titusville.

I know :P I met you a few days ago.

I thought Harbortown was DIY? When I called them a few months ago, they said it was DIY. Maybe I was confused or misunderstood.

All, thanks for the info. I had Cape Marina referred to me by friends in the Exumas who use the yard. Good to see an additional endoresement. I'll call them tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, was off line for a few days.
