Anchor help

I am trying to replace my stainless CQR 45lb plow anchor, (lost in hurricane Sandy...thats another story). Has anyone any knowledge or experience with UNICON Plowmaster in Pembroke Mass.? They sell a 45lb plow CQR style in SS, CQR evidently no longer is. BILL

Re: Anchor help

Our boat neighbour just came back from a first weekend cruise raving about the performance of his new SS anchor... this is the one he's got. Sexy looking thing, but he was really impressed.

Might be equally impressed by the price.... but FWIW have a look:

Ultra Anchors

Re: Anchor help

FASTER, Yes, I did see those advertised...there about $1000 higher then the "Plowmaster" for the 46lb. They don't seem to have the ability to pivot, well perhaps that dosn"t matter. My boatyard is buying so why should I care. Thanks

Re: Anchor help

Why not consider a new generation anchor like a Manson Supreme or Rocna?

Probably because so many are changing to new gen anchors. I have a genuine CQR but will get either a Rocna or Manson Supreme as a main anchor.
