How do I open this?

It is the connector for my auto helm with a broken wire inside. Evidently it is a BD 500 connector driplug. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to open it without breaking it. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: How do I open this?

Cut it off and replace it with something reasonable. That's what I did.

Re: How do I open this?

thanks Faster.... Frog what did you replace with? I may try to open the original but also check local WM for replacement.... I tend to agree that the broken wire was in part due to plug design so a different type might be the way to go.

It looks like the prongs have flats for a socket wrench. Have you tried that?

Re: How do I open this?

I just went to a marine store and found a "waterproof" connector with enough connections and used it. I've replaced it twice.
