Re: Shaft Through-hull Leak

Nice to see another P28-2 owner!

Mine is the shoal draft version, and the hull design suggests the through hull is original, though you're absolutely right that the gobs of sealant suggest a bad repair by a PO...

The boat's out of the water now, and looking from the outside confirmed that this was indeed a through-hull style log. Now the question is where to find a new one.
Online I only saw buckalgonquin, but they don't sell direct.. If you where it might be available it'd be terrific.

Also, could you please share the p28forum image url (I'm also on that group)

Thanks!

Hamilton Marine sells Buck Algonquin. Perhaps you could build your own fiberglass shaft log and install in its place.

Re: Shaft Through-hull Leak

Great to meet another p28-2 owner!

Mine is the shoal draft version, which may have a different log arrangement.
It's out of the water now, and looking from the outside confirms it's a through-hull.

It looks original, but as you said the gobs of sealant suggest a bad repair by a PO..
I'm going to replace it altogether, and am trying to find the right part.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you also please post a link to that image on the p28forum (I'm also a member)
Thanks!

Amir

Re: Shaft Through-hull Leak

I responded with the photo link on the p28forum, since you have to be a member to see it (and I saw your question there first).

Fisheries Supply can get the B/A part.

I'm no longer participating on SailNet.
