Are you done yet??

All you freakin' newbs who show up looking for a cheap boat that you think you're just going to sail away on, need to watch and listen to this video.

Sailboats are a cruel mistress. They demand all of your money, time and sweat...and sometimes a little blood sacrifice. Even so, they're totally worth it. What they give you in return cannot be measured.

My buddy Mik demonstrates, with a time-lapse video of his Albin Vega restoration:

I have to make one of those for the Cal which ONLY took 20 months BUT could have been strung out to 3 years without much effort

And this is a successful restoration. What about all the unsuccessful restorations. The video would end 3 years later with the boat disassembled and a for sale sign on it indicating half the price it was bought for.

BTW, excellent work and video.

Re: Are you done yet??

Love it
As you can see from the link below we're into year two with another year to go. Bought it cheap but the basic design and structure was what I was looking for. So, for triple the initial investment and countless hours we will have a boat the I know every inch of.
Splashing in the spring of 2014.
