True

The review posted showed 7.5 at 2500 rpm.

Other factors include

prop
bottom
towing
etc..

We have a cs 40 w/ a 43hp volvo. About 19000lb disp. We cruise at a little over 7 and see 8.5 wot.

The last bit of power makes the smallest difference. So 2200 rpm ought to be reasonably close to the 2500 rpm number.

8.4 knots is a bit optimistic at that rpm IMHO .

All those formulas make assumptions, ie..., clean bottom, perfect prop, dead calm conditions, etc..., most of which never seem to exist. I suspect that 7 would be very optimistic, and 6 would be somewhat more realistic under perfect conditions. Put some crud on the bottom, a couple barnacles on the prop, and 5 is about it.
