One of the best sailboat ads I have seen

Came across this today. Of all the basket case boats for sale I have seen, this takes the cake.

And that is hilarious! $3500 for a broken, half-sunk sailboat. Bargain!

Morgan 33 does not have a bolted on keel, they have internal ballast.
Interesting as I was considering a Morgan 33 to rebuild. However, with my new allergy to epoxy, I am not sure I could do it. MAybe I'll call them and get more info.

There is some comic tragedy in the name of the wreck. "Santorini", or what remained of the island of Thera after its cataclysmic volcanic explosion that saw an end to the Minoan civilisation.

"great restoration project!"

Yes, and before I shell out a few thousand dollars on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, let me hit myself in the head with a hammer, just so the deal sounds even so much better.

Re: One of the best sailboat ads I have seen

Surely the powers that be are breathing down this guys' neck!
"For sale is a 1973 Morgan 33 that has keeled over next to a seawall in Madeira Beach. I bought the boat like this in anticipation of hauling it out and restoring it. However, it has proven to be more than I want to deal with as it is going to require more effort than I am willing to put forth.

When the boat keeled over, it caused a crack where the keel bolts to the hull, making it take on water when I pump it out.

So, if anyone out there that knows how to resolve this issue, you can have this boat for less than what I have in it at this point. It would be a great restoration project for someone with the means of getting her out!"

The boats a lost cause, it's the owner that needs rescuing from salvage and demolition expenses.

That is priceless
