I have discussed with my wife, and have worked out the details so that I don't have to attend the deposition hearing. The deposition will go on without me being present. My wife will be there to take notes and any potential questions they need me to ask. My wife can call the Sat phone to get my input.

Yes, I have to realign my priority now, I am getting old, children already have their wings, money is not as important. There are many things I need to do before I can't do no more.

In my last three deliveries, I was helping older owners to get their boats to places they want. They were all too old to sail by themselves even with their SO on board. That sucks. I don't really want to follow their step.

I want to sail now while I am still capable.

Many things to do, to learn, and to get ready before the race.
Thank you

Dawg
Now for the really bad news. The owner just sold his turbo 70...but the good news is that he was able to charter a Cal 25 with pretty good sails.

Congrats....

Glad to hear you've made your choice. Transpac is pretty awesome. One of my dock mates Ronnie Simpson, raced a Moore 24 in last year's single handed transpac and came in first in his class. He's shooting for the Vendee Globe, now.

Capt. Simpson has come a long, long way since his first ill-fated voyage to Hawaii.

There are always openings in the return trip. I already put my name on the list. The owners are too busy make money.

Thanks for the name, i watched his videos, very impressive. Good example of a sailor that I want to become. May be I am too old for it, but I always to learn from him.

Re: I had a bad day, I need a hug or will kill someone

The way I see it (and I've used this excuse successfully) you had an existing contract in place prior to notification from the court. The contract should take precedence. A polite letter to the appropriate parties, to that effect, should take care of the problem, perhaps accompanied by some sort of documentation of your prior commitment. I'm not a lawyer but I am a small business owner. In my experience, judges are reasonably sympathetic to existing legal obligations, especially if you are not one of the primary parties involved.
